Taliban deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said preliminary information indicates that Pakistan’s recent airstrikes in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar killed 36 civilians and injured 163 others.

According to Fitrat, women and children are among the casualties.

He stated that a Pakistani airstrike on a civilian home in Mandokhel village of Chamkani district, Paktia province, killed one elderly man and one child while injuring other family members.

Fitrat added that a second strike allegedly targeted local residents after they had gathered to rescue victims, resulting in 28 deaths and 158 injuries.

He further said that another civilian home in Lwast village, Giyan district of Paktika province, was struck the same night, killing six people, including women and children.

According to the Taliban spokesperson, a civilian house in Barolo village of Marawara district, Kunar province, was also hit, causing extensive property damage but no reported fatalities.

Fitrat said the latest preliminary figures indicate that 36 civilians have been killed, 163 injured, and three residential homes completely destroyed in the overnight attacks.
