Zubeda Akbar, a human rights activist from Afghanistan, has won the 2024 International Gender Equality Network Award.
The network announced that Zubeda Akbar and Hafida Chekir, a women’s rights activist from Tunisia, were selected as the recipients of this year’s “Rights and Leadership” award.
Zubeda Akbar was recognized as a tireless advocate for human rights and the rights of Afghan women and girls.
