Today, Sunday, the 28th of July, is Afghanistan’s National Flag Day.

This day was named in 1398 in the solar calendar during the previous Afghan government. After the Taliban took control of the country, they lowered Afghanistan’s flag from government institutions and public places and raised their own flag instead.

Reports indicate that the Taliban have harassed some Afghans for possessing the Afghan flag.
Previously, people celebrated this day with concerts, dances, and festivities.
