Kamala Harris, U.S. Vice President, has officially announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination and to succeed Joe Biden.
In a statement released shortly after Biden’s withdrawal announcement, Harris emphasized her commitment to uniting the party and defeating Donald Trump. She praised Biden for his leadership and service, calling his decision a patriotic act.
Harris is among the top contenders for the 2024 presidential election.
