Sri Lanka remain narrowly ahead of Afghanistan with 95 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afghanistan\u2019s rise follows an impressive run of seven consecutive ODI victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That winning streak includes Afghanistan\u2019s recent tri-series matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, where the national side won all of its games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">England, meanwhile, have lost their last two matches in the ongoing tri-series in Pakistan involving the hosts and Sri Lanka. In one of those defeats, England were unable to defend a total of 430 against Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">India currently lead the ODI rankings with 115 rating points, followed by New Zealand with 109.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afghanistan\u2019s seventh-place position now puts them ahead of several ICC Full Member nations, including England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Afghanistan have climbed to seventh place in the latest ICC men\u2019s One-Day International rankings, moving ahead of England after a strong run of recent victories.
