Human Rights Watch has declared that the Taliban have created the worst women’s rights crisis in the world over the past three years.

The organization has called on all governments to hold senior Taliban officials accountable for serious crimes in Afghanistan.

According to Richard Bennett, the UN Human Rights Council’s Special Rapporteur, this situation is described as a “system of institutionalized discrimination and disrespect for human dignity.”

Human Rights Watch also highlighted the Taliban’s violations of freedom of expression and severe restrictions on women’s rights.
